Annual Inspections

Our buses are usually sold with a Yellow, Annual Inspection Certificate. This inspection is done at a local truck and bus repair garage here is Mississauga which repairs and inspects school buses for a major multi-national school bus company. However you can buy from us and have the bus certified by your mechanic and have him perform the Annual  Inspection. It is your choice.

This YELLOW sticker on a bus is valid for 6 months. If the bus is inspected again at a 6 month interval and an ORANGE sticker is attached to the bus, then the Yellow sticker is valid for a total of 12 months. This 6 month Inspection is often referred to as a “Brake Inspection.”  However more than the brakes are inspected to ensure that the bus is safe to operate.

These stickers expire at the end of the month. You can check the stickers to see what month they were placed on the vehicle because the month, year, and class of inspection are punched out of the sticker. The stickers on a bus are usually placed on the passenger side of the bus on or near the entry doors. If the vehicle is to be used as a commercial vehicle the yellow sticker is usually placed on the windshield or body on the driver’s side.

The expiry date of these stickers can be a bit confusing.  Most people think that the yellow sticker is valid for one year. This is only the case if an orange sticker is placed beside the yellow sticker. All buses MUST be inspected every 6 months.

If you are going to remove the seats from the bus and use it as a commercial vehicle instead of as  a bus, then the YELLOW COMMERCIAL sticker is valid for one year.
